Elmhurst, Illinois is a bustling suburb of Chicago, with somewhere between forty and fifty thousand residents. There are many reasons to come into town, from the Memorial Parade that has been going strong since 1918, to the St. Patrick's Day Parade that is one of the largest in the Chicago area! When you come to town you'll want to check out several landmarks, including the Theatre Historical Society of America, the York Theater, the Wilder Park Conservatory, the Elmhurst Art Museum, and the Illinois Windmills. And that's just the tip of the iceberg. There are a lot of choices to make as to where you'll spend your time in Elmhurst, but one thing you can't skip is getting some grub! If you're looking for a place to dine and have some cocktails, check out our list of bars and restaurants in the 60126 zip code.
ROBERTO'S RISTORANTE & PIZZERIA RESTAURANT
There are a lot of excellent Italian restaurants in the Elmhurst area, but Roberto's Ristorante & Pizzeria Restaurant is easily our top choice! If you're in the mood for a fresh and delicious hand tossed pizza, with just the right amount of sauce and cheese, nobody does it like Roberto's. They've also got a full menu of Italian favorites including seafood and pasta, and an extensive wine list. Great coffee too, which is great before or after your meal! We always have a great time at Roberto's.

Francesca's Amici is another classic Italian restaurant in Elmhurst. The portions are nothing short of giant, and the prices are very affordable. We really enjoy the friendly waitstaff here. They check with you often enough throughout the meal to see if you need anything at all, and they are very knowledgeable about the menu too. Our favorites here are the hand made spinach ravioli with four cheese sauce, the veal medallions, and the roasted salmon. And that's just a small sampling of the fine fare that's on the menu. Can't go wrong with anything they serve here!

BUFFALO WILD WINGS GRILL & BAR
Buffalo Wild Wings Grill & Bar is always a classic choice for a great time. If you're going out with a group of your friends, we can't think of a better place to go! You can grab a large round table and gather around for some good conversation, perfectly mixed drinks and generously poured beers, and of course the best spicy wings you've ever had! The incredible array of sauces is one of our favorite perks here. Choosing just two is a feat in itself! Can't go wrong with a visit to B. Dub's to celebrate those special times with friends.

PORTILLO'S HOT DOGS
You can't miss that classic exterior as you're cruising down South Route 83. Portillo's Hot Dogs is an Elmhurst landmark! The diner motif is just as much an attraction as the food itself. Classic hot dogs and hamburgers, great salads and fries... There's so much to enjoy. It's a fun place for first dates, and it's also one of the cheapest options that's still really fun. Everybody in Elmhurst loves Portillo's.

RED DRAGON CHINESE RESTAURANT
Red Dragon Chinese Restaurant has been a part of the Elmhurst landscape for a very long time, and with good reason. They specialize in seafood, but have a complete Chinese food menu that will satisfy even the pickiest appetites. It's tough to find Chinese food this good in the area, but they get it right every time with just the right amount of savory flavor and spice. We recommend the Chicken Almond Ding, and the chop suey is fantastic as well.

If you love Lebanese and Middle Eastern fare, you will really enjoy Athar Restaurant. This is Mediterranean food at its very best. The restaurant is family friendly, with crayons and coloring pages for the kids, and it's also got great atmosphere for date night for just two. Delicious Dolmahs and Chicken Schwarma! We love the surroundings, and the friendly waitstaff. They're always happy to point you to great items on the menu if you can't make up your mind.

You just gotta love a great Irish pub, and Fitz's Pub definitely fits the bill! The bar has nice decor, very authentic with lots of wood and dark colors throughout. There's sometimes a bit of a wait because it's such a popular spot for lunch and dinner, and nine times out of ten they will be packed. Though they have no trouble bringing in the crowds, they almost always have specials going on which will help you save a few bucks. Great place to watch the game while you nosh on nachos and wings!

Though the Sushi Nest conjures up images of a treetop high above Japan, their specialty roll has much more fire and heat in its name--the Volcano Roll! It is delicious! If you want to get a little extra bang for your buck, it's great to go for lunch when they give you miso soup and edamame at no additional charge. Our favorite roll here is the Winter Roll, which consists of crisp tempura shrimp, freshly sliced avocado, asparagus, wasabi mayo, and lightly seared tuna. If that doesn't make your mouth water, nothing will! Everything here is super fresh, and the atmosphere is very relaxing and authentic. Some say it's on the expensive side, but we say you get what you pay for here. Highly recommended.

Jamba Juice was made for those who love smoothies. They've got great superfood smoothies right now that include pomegranate and acai, and really refreshing coffee smoothies that give you that kick of caffeine that you're craving. They also cater, and there's nothing more fun than giving your party guests a huge tray of Jamba Juice to enjoy! Fresh, healthy, and delicious juices and smoothies! Everybody loves Jamba Juice.

The last restaurant on our list is also one of our favorites! There are so many delectable creations on the menu, including soups, salads, sandwiches, and more. We love their coffees, and they pair very nicely with the fresh fruit and cheese plate. But our favorite thing on the menu is hands down the Amano salad. Its ingredients are gorgonzola cheese, sliced pears, and delicious pine nuts. It's a medley that we find really hard to resist. This is a very pleasant little cafe that we highly recommend to you.
