While certainly not a restaurant or a bar, the Katherine Legge Memmorial Park and Lodge is a great spot to rent out for your private events like birthdays, bridal showers, baby showers, weddings, and receptions. The clubhouse can serve all your needs very nicely, and there are a lot of popular spots for the sports enthusiasts to enjoy such as a soccer field, a sledding hill, and tennis courts, plus plenty of open space and picnic space and a playground for the kids. Definitely consider this as a venue for your next party!

IL POGGIOLO RISTORANTE
Il Poggiolo Ristorante is a wonderful Italian restaurant that we frequent in the Hinsdale area for those special occasions when nothing but the best will do. They've got excellent pasta, steak, and seafood, and we also really enjoy their impressive list of wines. The sauces are incredible. The ambiance on its own would be enough for us to recommend this restaurant without even tasting the food, it's that warm and modern and inviting. Lots of mirrors, photographs, and beautiful lighting. We simply love it here. Very highly recommended.

ZAK'S PLACE
Zak's Place is one of those "upscale yet casual" places where you can nosh on some really high quality food without feeling that you've got to pull up in a black tie and tails! We love to pair an American favorite like a delicious juicy burger with something a bit more exotic like the truffle potatoes. There's a great variety of food here, and the service is really outstanding. Note that casual does not mean cheap - the prices are on par with the other restaurants in Hinsdale, but you do in fact get what you pay for here. One of the best in town!

EGG HARBOR CAFE
Egg Harbor Cafe is one of our favorite places to stop in for lunch in the Hinsdale area thanks to their fresh food, modern atmosphere, and friendly staff. The name isn't just a name... they really do use eggs in many of their dishes and in much more creative ways than most other restaurants. We love it. We're big fans of the salads and sandwiches here, plus their delicious hamburgers and really great homemade soups. It's always busy, so arrive a little bit early.

EMBRACE YOUR STYLE
You may not expect to see a restaurant called Embrace Your Style, and that's because this isn't just a restaurant, it's also a women's clothing store. One side of the building houses the retail offerings and the other side houses the restaurant. They've recently switched sides, so if you haven't been there in a year or so you might want to go back and check out the new ambiance. The food is really good, very fresh, and nicely prepared. We love the bread salad, which comes with croutons, tomatoes, cucumbers, goat cheese, and onions, plus balsamic vinaigrette. Very good!

GIULIANO'S PIZZA
Giuliano's Pizza is always a great family friendly choice no matter which of their locations you're at. We enjoy the Hinsdale location because they've got wonderful service. The pizza and salads are always fresh and delicious. This also happens to be one of the few family restaurants in Hinsdale that serves liquor, so you can pair your pizza with some fine wine, and we love that. And on the other end of the spectrum they've got crayons for the kids. So there's something for everybody. Simply the best.

Cosi's schtick is that they are a healthier version of fast food, but we'd put them on a higher level than that! The food is very good, approaching gourmet status. They have excellent sandwiches here! We love the fact that they have an open-flame stone oven for the pizzas. And did we mention that delicious Bombay Chicken Salad? It's so good! Lunch time can be a little bit crazy and overcrowded, so we'd recommend it more highly at other times of the day when you can really relax and enjoy your meal. Definitely worth a trip!

JADE DRAGON RESTAURANT
Jade Dragon Restaurant is old school Chinese food at its best. None of that modern upscale overhyped stuff here... just fabulous chop suey, chow mein, egg rolls, egg foo young, egg drop soup... all those classics that you can't get enough of! The atmosphere is very pleasant, nice for your lunch hour or perhaps a dinner with friends, and the service is outstanding. Very old fashioned and charming.

ZINGELMAN'S CHICAGO STYLE HOT DOGS
Zingelman's Chicago Style Hot Dogs is just a cozy little diner in Hinsdale that we have fallen in love with. It's very popular with families and kids because of the fun old fashioned atmosphere, and of course all those superhero murals that are painted on the walls. This is a true taste of the past, with the kind of malt shop food that your parents must have enjoyed back in the day. We love it!

COLD STONE CREAMERY
How could we not cap the list off with Cold Stone Creamery? We love this place as the last stop of the night. You can get your choice of ice cream, smoothies, juices, or even a frozen yogurt or sorbet, and just sit and enjoy some great conversation with your friends over that perfect end-of-the-night dessert. It's very popular in the daytime, especially with families with lots of kids, so prepare to wait a while in that endless line if you come early! It is worth it though!
