La Grange, Illinois
La Grange is one of the smaller suburbs of Chicago, clocking in at just over fifteen thousand residents. The words "La Grange" actually mean "the barn" in French, but this town is far from being rural countryside... It's got a bustling downtown area with bookstores, cafes, restaurants, shops, and more. If you're not coming to town just to shop and dine, perhaps you're planning to attend the Pet Parade that's held annually in the downtown area. Whatever your reason for traveling to La Grange, you'll need to know where to grab a bite to eat in the 60525 zip code. These are the places that we like best, including both bars and restaurants.
PALMER PLACE RESTAURANT & BIERGARTEN
Palmer's La Grange is located in the downtown area, and it's been family owned and operated since 1983. We love to hit this place any time day or night for great burgers and bar food, wonderful ice cold beer, and of course great company via both the crowds and the staff. It's a cozy little restaurant and pub vibe, and they've always got special events going on too. Our favorite things on the menu at Palmer Place are Palmer's Steak Sandwich, Mrs. P's Homemade Meatloaf, and the Olive This Burger. Try them all, you won't be disappointed.

If you love Thai food you'll really adore Thipi Thai. They've been going strong for close to a decade and a half, with experienced chefs serving up the latest and greatest Thai delicacies just for you, your family, and your friends. The service here is always very fast, which makes it a great place to stop in on your lunch hour. Everything on the menu is fantastic, but no matter what you get, make sure to order some Thai Noodle Soup as well. It sets everything off perfectly.

BLUEBERRY HILL BREAKFAST CAFE
Blueberry Hill Breakfast Cafe has several locations in Illinois, but we love the La Grange location for its fast and friendly service, and especially delicious food. They also own Alfie's Inn and Nick's Pizza & Beef, which earn an honorable mention here. But when it comes to Blueberry Hill, we just keep on coming back for their famous pancakes, delicious crepes, Belgian waffles, perfectly cooked French toast, and of course those incredible Blintzes. For those who prefer an eggs and meat type of breakfast, t hey've got skillet favorites and omelettes too, plus steak and eggs, classic breakfasts like Eggs Benedict Florentine, scramblers, and Mexican favorites. And that's only the breakfast menu! Blueberry Hill is highly recommended!

Magic Wok is as much known for its delicious Mai Tais, Strawberry Daiquiris, and other cocktails, as they are for their wonderful Chinese food. We love to start off with the potstickers appetizer, and work our way into the more substantial dinners like the Mu Shu Shrimp and Shrimp in Lobster Sauce. The egg rolls are really fabulous too. The Beef Teriyaki, though just an appetizer, is so good that we often order it instead of an entree. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu here, and the service is always warm and welcoming.

KAMA INDIAN BISTRO
Kama Indian Bistro is named for the God of love, passion, and the aesthetic pleasure of the senses, and dining at this wonderful restaurant is definitely a sensory experience that you won't soon forget. The Chicken Lemon Tadka is our favorite appetizer, consisting of shredded chicken with a lemon cream sauce and cilantro. The Mulligatwany Soup is a lentil broth flavored with Indian spices, which always sets off the flavors of any entree just perfectly. If you're dining in a group you can't go wrong with the Tandoori Platter, and the Tandoori Spring Chicken is also fantastic! If you're ordering cocktails with your meal, try the Cinnamon Pleasure Martini made with Grey Goose, Cointreau, and fresh OJ. Delish!

It's been a little while since we've dined at Cafe 36, but we can't wait to go back. Their staff is top notch, always tending to your every need. The only thing more important than that when it comes to a restaurant is the food, and they do it right! We're a big fan of the perfectly seasoned crabcakes. It's also nice to stop in for drinks, since they've got a full bar and a very impressive wine list. If you enjoy duck, that's one of the best items on the menu. Very pleasant atmosphere with comfortable seating and great lighting.

Prasino's motto is Eat Green Live Well, and at their modern and exciting restaurant, you'll not only have a fabulous dining experience, but you'll also learn how eating eco-friendly can be so much more delicious than the norm. The restaurant is family owned, and open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Prasino is actually the Greek word for green, and from the name of the establishment to the environmentally conscious surroundings... from the organic food to the green kitchen... everything embraces a spirit of gratitude to mother nature for her gifts. We highly recommend the Line Caught Spicy Ahi Tuna Tartar with firecracker sauce, chives, tobiko, and sesame crackers.

SANTIAGO'S MEXICAN RESTAURANT
Our only complaint about Santiago's is that they close too early, at just 9:30pm! So make sure you get over there early enough to enjoy a leisurely meal. They've got the best margaritas in town, fantastic flautas, and a really delicious queso fundido appetizer that we make sure to order every time we go there. Very family friendly and yet fun for friends to go and chill too. A truly giant tequila selection is the crowning glory of this establishment. But don't take our word for it. Go check it out for yourself! You'll love Santiago's.

Looking for delicious American cuisine in a great atmosphere? Try Nickson's. We love their six buck chuck Tuesdays hwere you can get a generously sized ground chuck burger and a huge portion of steak fries, all for just six bucks. On Mondays they've got half priced wine by the bottle and by the glass. There are often acoustic nights where you can catch some of the greatest local entertainment... but of course the star of the show here is the food! Delicious salads, giant burgers, fantastic sandwiches, quesadillas, portabello mushrooms, desserts... We could go on and on.

CORNER BAKERY CAFE
Corner Bakery Cafe always has such wonderful seasonal items on the menu to keep you coming back for more. Right now they've got a frozen lemonade with either pomegranate or mango flavoring... a chilled berry almond Swiss oatmeal with yogurt, rolled oats, and berries... a cracked pepper balsamic mayo BLT,, and a delicious lemon pound cake topped with the season's freshest berries! We also love their catering for picnics and parties. Highly recommended!
