Lockport is a Chicago suburb, located in Will County. It's easily accessible by train via Metra's Heritage Corridor, which links it up easily with Joliet and Chicago. Heading into Lockport this weekend for some fun with friends? You may want to print out the list below, which features some of our top favorite choices for bars and restaurants in the 60441 zip code!
PUBLIC LANDING RESTAURANT
The Public Landing Restaurant has been a Chicagoland tradition for more than twenty years. The menu consists of all your American favorites, many of which happy diners have classified as comfort food, and best of all the restaurant is still family owned after all these years. Off the appetizers menu we'd recommend the Smoked Norwegian Salmon Carpaccio or the Mushrooms Rockefeller, and for an entree you can't go wrong with the Roasted Free Range Pennsylvania Turkey, or the amazing Lobster Stuffed Ravioli in light lobster cream sauce! It's too good to believe!
Address: 200 West 8th Street
Tallgrass is one of the best fine dining establishments in Lockport. Just seeing that familiar sign makes our mouths water and then we've got to stop in for some incredible chops, the Tallgrass Beef Trio, or the sauteed veal sweetbreads. The seared wild ahi tuna is also amazing, as are the butter poached wild prawns. And did we mention the lump crab ravioli? Everything on the menu is fantastic, and the ambiance is unlike anything else in the area. Truly wonderful place for dinner.

MAMA ONESTA'S ITALIAN RESTAURANT
Mama Onesta's is a casual Italian restaurant where you can go to enjoy some Italian comfort food with your good friends, and perhaps pair it with one of the wonderful wines that they offer. They've got both dine-in and carry-out, plus catering services, and we do highly recommend them for catering private parties. The exterior is also famous as one of the settings for a scene in the movie Public Enemies, featuring Johnny Depp and Michael Mann. Very cool place to stop for a bite whenever you're in Lockport!

OOGA BOOGA BAR BA Q
Ooga Booga Bar Ba Q is the home of great "samiches, chicken, and ribs," and we have loved this place for a very long time! You can get your "samiches" in kid size, regular six ounce, or ooga booga half pound sizes. Your choice of pulled pork, smoked beef brisket, smoked corned beef, the C-C #3 (pork, beef, and corned beef combo), garbage samich, fish samich, chicken salad samich, beef chop samich, or a great Vienna hot dog! For the chicken you can choose from half a chicken or a fourth of a chicken, and for the ribs you can get the full slab, half slab, or a rib snack. Best barbecue ever!

Pancho's Grill is one of the best places for fresh Mexican food in the Lockport area. They've got fabulous tacos, burritos, fajitas, and every other Mexican specialty that you love, all made with the utmost care and attention to detail. Just the right amount of sauces and cheeses to complement the flavors in each dish. The service is fast and friendly and the atmosphere is superb. Highly recommended for all Mexican food lovers!

HONEY FIELD RESTAURANT
Honey Field Restaurant & Pancake House is open for breakfast and lunch, and they also have a juice shoppe so you can just stop in for a fresh squeezed juice as a pick-me-up any time of the day. They are perhaps best known for their fresh fruit and Red Bull smoothies. Talk about an energy boost! We're also huge fans of their pumpkin pancakes and their French crepes! Everything is gourmet and really delicious. We highly recommend their salads too, and the trail mix platter! Wow! Very highly recommended.

OUTPOST PUB & GRILL
The Outpost Pub & Grill is one of the most fun places in Lockport to just let your hair down and relax with good friends! There's plenty to do here, from dancing to karaoke, from watching sports on TV to playing video games in their game room! They've also got wi-fi, and a great private party room that you can rent for your special events. The selection of beer and wine is impressive, and the service is outstanding. One of the best bars in the area. We love it!

FAT SAM'S BAR & GRILL
Everyone that hangs out at Fat Sam's Bar & Grill says that the pizza is the very best in town. We love the sweet tasting sauce that they use on it, and it's just the right amount too. The drinks are good and strong and nicely priced, and we were particularly impressed by the fast and friendly service that we were treated to. Fun atmosphere, very clean and inviting. We'd highly recommend this bar to you and your friends. Wonderful food and drinks!
Address: 1225 East 9th Street
We love to hang out at Paradise Bay, on their outdoor beer garden specifically. They've got incredible apple pie shots here, and you can compete in bags tournaments if you aren't too tipsy from all the great drinks! There's nothing really fancy here, just a tiki themed style of decor that is perhaps past its prime. Doesn't matter much if you're like us, because you'll be enjoying the outdoor area most of the time! There are video poker machines too for those who like to gamble!

STELLA'S ON STATE STREET
Stella's on State Street isn't just a name... you'll really get to know Stella while you're there, and chances are she'll end up buying you a drink (she bought us one). It's a pretty small bar and very popular, so you'll want to get in early if you want a good seat. The dirnks are good and strong and the ambiance is very cool. Very friendly vibe overall. There are a lot of other bars nearby, near enough to walk to so you can actually do the bar hopping thing without needing transportation except your own two feet. But who would want to leave? We love this place!
