Mount Prospect, Illinois
Mount Prospect is one of the more upscale neighborhoods adjacent to Chicago, and as such it is also home to many great restaurants and bars. It's one of the inner suburbs, located in Cook County, and just 22 miles northwest of the downtown area. The Mount Prospect Historical Society is always holding events throughout the year, and perhaps you're coming to town to attend one of them. Whether that's your reason, or whether the great food is your reason, these are our top choices for the very best restaurants and bars in the 60056 zip code.
You'll of course recognize Blues Bar by the familiar Blues Brothers logo with the hats and the sunglasses... They're known for their incredible dining and drinks, and all those flat screen TVs that let you catch the big game... They've always got the best live entertainment in the area, with blues BBQ night every Saturday night, private banquet area for parties, an limousine service available too.

EL SOMBRERO RESTAURANT
Let's let the words of the local newspapers speak for this restaurant instead of our own... The Daily Herald raved about "Mexican food in a relaxing atmosphere." The Chicago SunTimes voted them "#1 Margaritas in the suburbs." The New York Times said that the food is "consistently good." And of course The Daily Herald Reader voted them "Best Mexican Food in Cook County" in 1999, 2000, and 2001. Enough said? We think so. We recommend the Guadalajara combination, which is one beef taco, one poultry enchilada, and one Mexican pepper stuffed with beef.
