Oswego is a village in the suburbs of Chicago, located within Kendall County with a population of just under thirty thousand. Just ten years ago the population was less than half of that figure, making it one of the fastest growing cities in the Chicagoland area. It's perhaps best known for its drag strip days in the mid-fifties through late seventies, and those drag racing days are still celebrated now. When visiting Oswego, make it a point to try some of the best restaurants and cocktail lounges in the 60543 zip code, which we've listed for you below.
TAP HOUSE GRILL
Tap House Grill is all about great food and drinks, with their slogan "Addictive Food, Creative Brews" just beginning to hint at that. They've got a mean martini list as well as twenty beers on tap. The menu is filled with delicious specialties from appetizers to wings, froms salads to sandwiches, from burgers to steaks, all the way down to dessert. We love the Green Chili Pork Nachos, the Grilled Siracha Chicken Lollipops, and the Steak & Ale Wedge Salad. And how about that Lobster Ravioli, and the Roasted Vegetable and Goat Cheese Pasta? These are gourmet dishes that you would not expect to find in a cozy bar like this. Very highly recommended, one of the best!

GIORDANO'S OF OSWEGO
Giordano's of Oswego is an absolute essential if you want to dine on the very best pizza. They're continually honing their pizza recipe, going to all the different pizza restaurants each week to get an idea of what the competition is up to, but always sticking to the general recipe that belonged to their mother so long ago. Truly they say you can trace it back to theri great great great-grandmother, which would make their classic recipe 200 to 300 years old! There is no more authentic pizza recipe than that! So good!

Pizza Cuchina of course means "Pizza Kitchen" in Italian, and the Oswego location is one of our favorites. We love their Four Tops pizza which consists of sausage, mushroom, onion, and green peppers. The Godfather is also really great, with sausage, onion, Italian beef, tomatoes, and hot giardiniera. Also try the Napoli which has fresh tomatoes, fresh basil, and mozzarella cheese. So delicious! You can go with the thin crust, the double dough, the pan pizza, or the stuffed crust. And don't forget about the calzones and pasta!

Mason Wok is one of our favorite Chinesee restaurants in the Oswego area, with Szechuan, Hunan, and Cantonese favorites on the menu. We're big fans of their fried rice and lo mein, and their moo shu dishes are also really delicious. If you love chow mei fun you'll be pleased with the way they make it here, and the sweet and sour dishes are also very flavorful and fresh. Happy Family and Hawaii Five O are also two of our favorites! Always a pleasant dining experience.

We love the Gyros Double which has twice the amount of gyro meat, but even better you may want to opt for the Gyros plate so you can get it with all the trimmings!
