Alsip, Illinois

Alsip is one of the medium- to large-size villages that surround Chicago, with just under 20,000 residents at the last census count. When you're driving down I-294 you will see the familiar sight of the red water towers that are such a familiar part of the city, and you may also know Alsip as the location of one of the two Coca-Cola plants that are located in our area. No matter what you're traveling to Alsip for, these are our favorite restaurants and bars in the 60803 zip code.

Country House Restaurant is one of our favorite family style restaurants in the Alsip area. They serve classic American dishes that we all love, and they serve all meals, breakfast lunch and dinner! It's a very family-friendly restaurant, so if you've got kids you know that they will love it here. We're big fans of their authentic baked French onion soup. Nothing fancy here, just a great restaurant with really wonderful tasting food, and we love it.

Chateau Busche is a French restaurant that is elegant yet very comfortable. It does cost a bit more than most of the restaurants in the area, but then it's best for special occasions and celebrations, and you do get what you pay for here! They've got everything from steaks to seafood to sushi, and it's all served beautifully and cooked just right. They do private events very well, and we'd highly recommend them for your wedding receptions or bridal showers.

Nancy's Pizza is a cozy little family friendly pizzeria that serves up delicious pizza, salads, tacos, sausage, onion rings, breadsticks, and so much more. Those are the things that keep us coming back for more! We love their "super thin," and their deep dish is even more irresistible! They do use a lot of cheese here, so if you're the double cheese type you may find that you don't even need to order it that way! Very good food and excellent service!

Baker's Square Restaurant & Pies is known for their pies and baked goods, but we've always been a fan of it for their delicious salads and entrees. It's one of the more casual restaurants that we frequent in the Alsip area, and that makes it just perfect for a quick lunch or dinner stop when you're dressed in your casual clothes on a day off. Great service, wonderful ambiance, and really good for casual get-togethers with friends!

Nino's Pizza has some of the very best pizza in all of Alsip! Their crust is so nice and flaky, and the sauce strikes that perfect balance between sweet and zesty. You simply cannot beat the prices here. It's a nice place to come in for pizza and drinks too, since they've got a pretty decent beer selection. This restaurant has been here for as long as we can remember and we wouldn't be surprised if it always is! Can't imagine Alsip without it.

Allgauer's Restaurant is a casual dining establishment on West 127th Street in Alsip, where you can relax with good friends and dine on some really delicious American contemporary dishes. They've got your traditional favorites too. Nice place to stop at for a quick lunch or dinner, and they've got really good desserts too including a Bananas Foster that we can't get enough of! Wonderful steak, seafood, pasta, and chops.

Who doesn't love going to Dairy Queen in the warm summer months? Standing in that line, staring at the menu and trying to decide which tasty cool treat will be the one that chases the heat away... It's an Alsip classic and we are big fans of this Dairy Queen location on South Pulaski Road. Our favorite thing on the menu is the Peanut Butter & Jelly Blizzard! Trust us, it's fantastic!

La Fiesta Azteca is one of our favorite Mexican restaurants in the Alsip area, with a really delicious item called the Burrito Fiesta Azteca that is nothing short of huge, and really noteworthy quesadillas. Very cheesy and good. The ambiance seems a little off because this used to be a family style restaurant and then it became a Mexican restaurant, but don't let that put you off - the food is simply outstanding and the service is out of this world!

Golden Bear Restaurant is a very family friendly establishment with a menu that is nothing short of extensive! They've got just about everything you could ever have a craving for. Wonderful breakfasts, fabulous barbecued meats, and really wonderful steaks. The staff is supremely friendly here, remembering the names of all the regulars and always welcoming everyone whether you're new or a weekly visitor! Very highly recommended!

O'Malley's Sports Bar & Grill is a classic bar where you can find that cold one you're after while watching the game on TV. It's large with plenty of seating, and the crowds here are all ages, all friendly and happy. There's never been a fight here in our presence, just good times and happy people. The food and drinks are very affordable, and the ambiance can't be beat. One of our favorite bars in the area!
